Sunday’s my favourite day – nothing unexpectedly shocking will arrive in the post. (Although there is now email, which knows no holiday). Peace will – most probably – reign. (But perhaps that’s tempting fate?)
In the summer I’d be out in the garden, in winter it’s a spot of drawing, music or just reading in front of the fire. Recently I’ve discovered Caro Ramsay, a writer of darkly humorous detective stories that she bases in a Glasgow police department. Were you aware that there’s a genre calling itself ‘Tartan Noir’? It sort of sums her books up.
Also lovely, on a rainy Sunday, to trawl through pictures of the Rose Walk in June. I wish the month would go on for more than its 30 days. The roses, lamb’s ears, alliums and clematis, on their hazel teepees, look perfect.
There’s still two days to join in with Cathy’s meme at Words and Herbs. Even one flowery picture raises the spirits. Go on over and see what others are posting!
A charming thought… adding a week to June would suit me too! And perhaps an extra week at the beginning of July too. And…. a couple less in January? LOL!!! Your photos are a delight Cathy. Have a lovely relaxing Sunday!
Hope you didn’t tempt fate too much! Lovely pictures of the fastest changing time of the gardening year. There’s just so much to look forward to then.
Enjoyed all your lovelies! Will make a note of darkly humourous author. Sounds like fun.
Lovely memories of summer here. And if you enjoy Tartan Noir then look for Stuart MacBride books or Alex Gray.
Ah, June! The most magical of months! ❤
I have Lamb’s Ears but not much luck with alliums or poppies. Your planting scheme is lovely.
Thanks! It’s a bit ‘woolly’ – like me …
