A Week of Flowers, Day 1

    1. I’m celebrating your wonderful idea today, Cathy. Already looking at the posts of people’s flowers feel a happy and positive start to Monday coming on!

  1. Gorgeous, all. I was unfamiliar with asphodel so just went off to read about it. Those Iris are a soft delicate color. Love the alliums too, something I have had little success with. Have a happy day.

    1. The asphodel is lovely, Susie – I think it’s a steppe plant, so very cold resistant and tolerant of baking heat in summer (when it is mostly dormant). The spring foliage is lovely, and then comes back for another burst of pretty grey-green in autumn.

  2. Oh, those iris! Iris pallida seems to be so universal. I mean, they are everywhere! Mine are from the garden of my maternal – maternal great grandmother. I believe that they were grown more as orris root, rather than as an ornamental. I grew only about a dozen other bearded iris. Some were fancier, but the old Iris pallida remains my favorite.
