Beautiful, I love irises
Just gorgeous. Don’t they look wonderful against the old wooden door? I saw this iris growing everywhere in Tuscany recently. Do you know its name?
Personally (my theory, could be completely wrong), I think it could be Iris pallida – it grows like a weed around the village (where the picture was taken, against an uninhabited house) along with the standard dark purple wild iris.
I do looooove that shade of iris. Thanks.
It’s just about my favourite colour too, John. Glad you enjoyed.
Our iris flowers are just at the point of unfurling. I love the anticipation. Beautiful shade of blue, and gorgeous set against the old wall and door. Just perfect.
It’s a bit like a nice cup of coffee – the anticipation is the best bit! Thanks for visiting!
Oh yes, that sense of anticipation is the best, isn’t it? First the snowdrops, then the daffodils, then the tulips, then the irises … we are moving into rose anticipation now!
